11/9/2021 1 Comment Sealing Vs Striping Parking LotsBoth sealcoating and striping provide asphalt parking lots with a durable surface that can withstand the elements and long-term use. Sealing provides a barrier between the aggregate material and the surrounding environment, allowing water and other liquids to move off quickly. The seal is applied with a roller and then left to dry, which provides an extra layer of protection. A machine sprayer can then apply the seal to the parking area and leave it to dry. There is no need for walking through wet asphalt to remove the first coat, as this will not affect the effectiveness of the second coat. For added protection, sealcoating can be added to provide a two-layered effect or the entire parking lot can receive the application of multiple coats.
Sealing is usually the more economical choice for private business owners as it allows for continuous use of the parking lots for years to come without incurring additional costs. The process works by applying a thin film of asphalt to the top of the existing concrete surface. The sealcoating and striping services include the application of the thin film as well as the application and removal of any protective coating. There are a number of advantages to sealing and striping the surface of commercial and residential parking lots including: Sealing and stripping are cost effective and time efficient. Most asphalt parking lots are in good condition with few signs of wear or tear. The investment into sealcoating and striping these structures is a small price to pay for the increased value and convenience. In addition to providing a clean, safe, and durable surface, parking lots sealed with sealcoating and striping can also act as a green resource by cutting down on gas emissions due to vehicle exhaust. Also, sealing and striping services allow for the convenient use of these structures for outdoor gatherings and family gatherings. If you have an asphalt parking lot that needs to be resurfaced or if your current asphalt is showing signs of aging, consider both options. First, contact the asphalt contractors to inquire about the availability of both forms of specialized construction and maintenance. They will work with you to determine what your options are and to determine which option is best for your needs. They may suggest the best solution for your particular situation. If an asphalt parking lot has the potential to become hazardous, the situation may only require striping or no sealcoating at all. In this case, the company responsible for maintaining the parking lot's safety may advise against having any sealcoating applied to the structure. In cases where there is considerable wear and tear on asphalt caused by heavy vehicle traffic, it may be necessary to apply both sealcoating and striping at the same time. For example, if the parking lots at your business are becoming stained with the dirt from vehicles that park there, you may want to seal the parking lots before you start applying a new coating of asphalt. The same goes for repairing cracks in concrete or cracked asphalt that are becoming too wide for repair. Sealing and striping together can prevent the problems from getting out of control before you even have to put down a new coating of pavement. Both sealcoating and striping provide you with a solid way to protect your parking structures from the elements. However, they do so in different ways. When you seal a surface, you will add a protective layer above the ground. Striping, on the other hand, damages the surface underneath by exposing it to the elements. Both types of protective measures are essential, but it all depends on what you are trying to achieve. heck out this homepage to find more information about this topic. I find it fascinating that striping your parking lots could improve their legibility, especially when exposed to traffic most of the time. I was walking around our office to get lunch and saw a couple of ads that offer parking lot line striping services. I think most businesses should consider investing in these if their asphalt driveway is showing signs of wear and tear.
